Ep 010: Making Friends
Show notes:
“Names are the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”
― Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People
Developing friendships involve finding a connection, inviting them into a part of your life, and communicating your expectations.
Finding a connection is looking for something you have in common. It’s complimenting them on something you appreciate. It’s talking about a subject you both find interesting.
Invite them to do something with you. Invite them to see a movie, Go out for a drink, work on your car, run at the gym, or anything you both can share and do together.
Communicate your expectations. If you want them to meet you at an exact time tell them. Clarify what you think they may be expecting from you.
We find happiness in the moment by remembering the things that make us the most grateful.
